Head of Commercial – Insurance

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Commercial to join us on the Holiday Extras campus and become part of our expert team. The workload is fast-paced, but the atmosphere is fun.

We want our Head of Commercial to build the Holiday Extras insurance business by implementing, developing and delivering a strategy that promotes growth. You’ll bring your brilliant coaching and management skills to drive the performance of our incredible team by helping them to achieve their goals and perform at their best.  You will be motivating and inspiring and can expertly balance people’s individual needs with the needs of the customer and Holiday Extras. As an ambitious individual you will drive your own development whilst sharing your knowledge with the wider team to help them achieve their goals.You’ll make a key strategic contribution to the business using your understanding of our vision and strategy to drive performance and meet the group’s longer term objectives.

You’ll have several years of experience managing people, be well connected in the insurance market, possess an in depth knowledge of insurance, a rounded understanding of the online travel environment and the ability to confidently communicate and build relationships with potential and current partners. You will lead by example owning the external partnerships with distributors, underwriters and external system providers such as Firemelon and Healix. You’ll lead change and constantly review all areas of the insurance business to drive agility, growth, best practices and to engage and empower the team. you  You can be guaranteed however, that no two days will be the same.

  • Do you have proven experience in  building long term partnerships within the insurance market?

In addition, you must have strong communication skills and a flexible, pragmatic approach; along with a passion for keeping up with ever changing landscape of online travel to keep ahead of the game. You’ll also have a great overall understanding of systems and industry terminology to help you assess business opportunities and take the commercial lead on projects.  You will also be able to converse with the technical team and understand at a high level the options available to the business and help drive the right decision making.
