Business Development Manager – Travel Insurance

We’re looking for experienced Business Development Manager to join us on the Holiday Extras campus and become part of our award winning team. The workload is fast-paced, but the atmosphere is fun.

Our partners are a vital part of our business, here at Holiday Extras we work with over 12,000 partners from across the travel industry. Ensuring we continue to grow this part of the business is vital to our continued success. We make 350,000 travel insurance sales a year at Holiday Extras with our travel trade partners making up a large percentage of these. We believe there is still more opportunity in and outside of the travel trade to secure new exciting partnerships.

We want our Business Development Manager to use their long list of travel trade contacts to start conversations about insurance requirements and open the door to new opportunities. You will be part of our growing Insurance team and play a part in their mission to build awesome relationships with our partners, looking for every opportunity to grow bookings and profit.

You’ll have a proven track record of delivering new business within the Leisure and Business Travel industry using your commercial know how and keen eye for data to spot new opportunities for growth. You don’t necessarily need to have experience working within the travel insurance sector, but you should have several years experience as a Business Development Manager within the travel trade and experience driving sales.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the overall new business budget, with your performance being measured against the gross profit you generate.This is a market that we have only scratched the surface of, so the potential for a strong Business Development professional is huge! QA Engineer – Shortbreaks

The Role

Shortbreaks are currently transitioning to a new purpose built platform to support our fully responsive websites and to move away from our legacy systems.  This is an exciting time to get fully immersed in our plans to optimise our business and give back valuable time to our Developers and QA’s to deliver optimised systems to support our growing business and continue to create the best websites for our partners and customers.  

Your role will be to maintain and optimise our automated testing to support our Web Development team to deliver high quality websites to our customers and partners. As a member of the QA team you will be working closely with our  Back End Developers, Front End Developers and Project Managers. You will be responsible for driving our automated testing forward with the ability to define how we approach and deliver our testing strategy.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to train and mentor other members of the QA team to use our automated tests to best practice and, where possible, to maintain the code to keep the tests relevant and up to date.

What are we looking for?

  • Excellent working knowledge of QA methodologies
  • Programming skills and the ability to develop and maintain automation scripts from scratch
  • Experience in software testing and open source automation tools
  • Hands on experience with continuous integration
  • Ability to design and document software test plans

The Contact Centre is made up of teams that manage inbound calls, emails and live chat. Some of our consultants work from home and we sell a range of products, including: airport parking, hotels, lounge passes, insurance, rail travel and a number of essential extras.

We are currently looking for team members to join us on a fixed term contract until the end of September/October 2017 to help us during our busy summer period.

The Role

You will be the voice of Holiday Extras; From making a sale to helping a customer book and amend their holiday add ons, you will be dealing with a variety of inbound calls everyday.

We don’t believe in ‘pushy’ sales or offering products to our customers that aren’t suitable. You will take a genuine interest in where the customer is going on their trip to get them in the holiday mindset & create a memorable customer experience. Hours

We’re looking for super flexible full and part time people who are able to work across our opening hours. In order to truly delight our customers you may be asked to “flex up” your hours and assist with higher call volumes.

Full-Time – “Core Flex”: 30 Hours – “Full Flex”: 37.5 Hours – you will need to be fully flexible across our opening hours of Monday – Friday 8.00am until 11pm and Saturday – Sunday 8.30am until 9pm.

Part-Time – “Core Flex”: 16 Hours – “Full Flex”: 20 Hours – you will need to be available 3 evenings per week Monday to Friday until 11pm and 1 day at the weekend between 8am to 8pm.

You will be given notice if you are required to work your “full flex” but can be guaranteed your “Core Flex” hours each week!

As someone who is excited by all aspects of social media you will be responsible for pushing our content, platforms and campaigns beyond the cutting edge of current best practice. You will actively seek to learn about and improve upon the latest trends and techniques to delight and engage our audience via all relevant social channels.  

As someone who has a great understanding of the wider digital landscape you will be confident in search engine optimisation, paid advertising, analytics and, of course, social media marketing. You’ll need to be commercially astute with an understanding of content marketing theory, constantly thinking of how to extend our relationship with customers resulting in more leads and customers returning through the most appropriate channels. We’re looking for someone with an analytical mindset – you’ll have great numeracy skills and won’t be intimidated by data, spreadsheets and reporting! You will actively seek commercial data and apply it to our creative outputs and wider social strategy.

German speaking Supplier Payments Clerk

We’re looking for a German speaking Supplier Payments Clerk to join us on the Holiday Extras campus and become part of our expert team for a fixed term of 9-12 months. The Supplier Payments Team are responsible for the collecting and paying monies from and to Customers and Suppliers, in addition to this they also gather data and report to the wider business helping to inform strategy. The role will see you assisting with the supplier payment accounts of our German business. Holiday Extras Germany is helping us deliver our mission of “Making Travel Easy” to our customers on the continent by delivering a variety of holiday add-ons in over seven countries across Europe. The workload is fast-paced, but the atmosphere is fun.

As someone who is excited by all things financial you will assist the Supplier Payments Team with a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Processing our supplier invoices using excel and comparing the invoice to data in our booking system FRITTEN.
  • Matched invoice data and compiling reports for the supplier to confirm our findings and how much they will be paid for their services.
  • Adherence to supplier contracted payment dates, managing any challenges along the way.
  • Deal with all supplier queries via email and on the phone in a professional manner and within an acceptable timeframe.
  • Maintain good working relationships with our German & European Suppliers, our European team and our German Finance team

As this role will see you working closely with the German team in Munich it is essential that you are able to communicate fluently in German (written and verbal).

As an inquisitive team player and keen learner you will get involved with a variety of tasks and projects. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and strong Excel skills extending to formula, pivot tables and lookups. As a self motivated individual you will be keen for the next challenge and be able to prioritise your own workload, taking on additional responsibilities to support the wider team. We are looking for a tech savvy person with a background in online travel to join our Partnerships team for a fixed term of 12 months. You’ll be dealing with online travel brands such as, Travelsupermarket, On the Beach, Saga and the AA on a daily basis. Carrying out day to day account management and identifying key areas of growth.
