We’re looking for Copywriter to join us on the Holiday Extras campus and become part of our expert team for a fixed term of 6 months. The workload is fast-paced, but the atmosphere is fun.

We want you to bring your passion for writing and our products to help us create some creative and exciting content for our customers and drive the growth of our bookings! You will be a talented wordsmith and be able to draft original and inspiring content for our websiteYou will assist in identifying the most useful content for our market and create copy that piques the reader’s interest, provides them with all the facts they need to make an informed decision and convinces them to choose Holiday Extras above everybody else.

You’ll be working alongside product, content and SEO experts to develop and deliver online marketing strategies, you will ensure that our online content is fresh, perceptive and informative. We are fast-moving, entrepreneurial and innovative in our approach, and we are looking for someone with the skills to deliver the best web-pages in our market.

HelpDesk Engineer (12 months fixed term)

Holiday Extras are looking for a HelpDesk Engineer to come and use cutting edge technology to help the team revolutionise how customers (7 million and growing) travel better.

The Holiday Extras group is growing at a phenomenal rate. With more people joining, we’re expanding our HelpDesk team to ensure we can keep giving our customers a great experience. We have 3 friendly and enthusiastic members in our current HelpDesk team, who all enjoy getting a user back to work, and hate to see them struggling.

We are 100% Apple Mac based with over 1000 devices across 2 sites in the UK and one in Europe. We are an approved Apple Authorised Repair Centre which allows us to carry out all our own repairs and servicing, we also offer support for all tech related queries like Office, eMail, phones (iPhones, of course) along with all the other day to day helpdesk duties.

We are big on automation and self service which will be a key part to this role, being able to spot opportunities to automate and innovate is key. We’ve made a start by introducing Munki across the business, which streamlines machine configuration and setup. We are now looking to introduce Munki to the rest of the HX group, giving a high-standard of user experience across all our users.

  • You’ve had experience troubleshooting issues and looking to make an positive impact.
  • Experience of Apple Mac hardware and software & Google mail
  • Been a part of a successful Help Desk team
  • Good knowledge of standard office programs like Excel / Word / Chrome

  • Clean driving licence in order to be mobile between our 2 UK sites
  • Experience of industry recognised deployment tools such as Munki, JAMF, KACE, MDM etc but not essential.

 

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • You will have autonomy and responsibility to solve the interesting problems we face daily.
  • You will be the first point of call for our Help desk
  • You will be working closely with our Apple Engineers with prioritising tickets
  • You’ll be working closely with the Holiday Extras staff around the group to come up with solutions to help make their lives better.
  • Solving problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. The goal being to automating all non-exceptional service conditions.
  • You will develop your career in a strong team with a well-defined culture, that is building a fast-moving, disruptive business.
  • You will lead and assist in solving challenges and delivering innovative new experiences with other team’s alongside supporting our other businesses.
  • You will be covering 2 different locations (about 4 miles apart) with visits to our European office too.
  • You will be doing out of hours support (1 in 4) but that’s a good incentive to automate.
  • You’re going to have a lot of fun!

Senior Email Marketing Developer

The Email team’s job is to communicate with every one of our over 5 million signed up customers in a relevant, entertaining and timely way. When people interact with our emails it makes us a happy team; when people click that dreaded unsubscribe link it make us sad: so it’s important that we send the right messages at the right time.

We’re an unusual mix of techy and creative and this is what enables us to code responsive emails, write SQL, create clever dynamic marketing campaigns, and understand our databases as well as designing email templates and coming up with new strategies to help boost our performance.

The Role

We are looking for an innovative Front End Developer to work in our growing web team who will be responsible for delivering robust and performant web solutions across our platform. You will have the freedom to deliver the best solution for the challenges the business puts in front of you and will be given the resources and time you need to get the job done.

You will have significant, proven capability in front end development with an in-depth knowledge of the basics (HTML, CSS and JS) and also experience using React and pre processors such as PostCSS and LESS. You must also have experience in building for all devices as our responsive projects are essential for the development of our websites.

Some experience in Node.js and Redux would be advantageous and you will be expected to keep up with ever changing technology and where possible, be ahead of the game.

Holiday Extras are looking for software engineers to come and use cutting edge technology to helps us revolutionise how customers (7 million and growing) travel better.

We’ve got a lot of great work to do and believe in using tried and tested tools that enable us to push the boundaries of what is possible, fast. You can expect to be working daily with Javascript, using continuous delivery tooling. If you’re updating and building in our back end we use Node.js® and if you’re jumping into our front end you’d be working with React.js and Redux.js, just to name a few technologies.

We know great Engineers can adapt to other tech quickly, so if javascript isn’t your thing right now that’s not a deal breaker as long as you want to learn! We build many of our tools in-house but also love open source so as well as taking much from the community you’ll find a lot of our codebase openly available on GitHub and how we work on our culture repo.

You can expect to be working daily building APIs with Javascript and Node.js®, using continuous delivery tooling and, if you’re feeling ambitious jumping into our front end and working with React.js and Redux.js. Business Development Manager – Travel Insurance

Our partners are a vital part of our business, here at Holiday Extras we work with over 12,000 partners from across the travel industry. Ensuring we continue to grow this part of the business is vital to our continued success. We make 350,000 travel insurance sales a year at Holiday Extras with our travel trade partners making up a large percentage of these. We believe there is still more opportunity in and outside of the travel trade to secure new exciting partnerships.

We want our Business Development Manager to use their long list of travel trade contacts to start conversations about insurance requirements and open the door to new opportunities. You will be part of our growing Insurance team and play a part in their mission to build awesome relationships with our partners, looking for every opportunity to grow bookings and profit.

You’ll have a proven track record of delivering new business within the Leisure and Business Travel industry using your commercial know how and keen eye for data to spot new opportunities for growth. You don’t necessarily need to have experience working within the travel insurance sector, but you should have several years experience as a Business Development Manager within the travel trade and experience driving sales.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the overall new business budget, with your performance being measured against the gross profit you generate.This is a market that we have only scratched the surface of, so the potential for a strong Business Development professional is huge! You can be guaranteed that no two days will be the same.
