Web Engineer Industrial Placement (12 months)

£16,100 per annum + profit share + benefits

We are looking for undergraduate students, who are passionate about technology and eager to learn to join our team as Software Engineers.

Our Web teams build the tools our customers need to make their trip better and at the same time get to play with the latest tech. We have an active GitHub community with over 150 users and 450 projects spanning a range of technologies such as Node, Express, React, Backbone and other JavaScript single page applications. We are a growing team with 60+ engineers, many of whom are previous placement students, all willing to support you through your placement year. We really value personal development and dedicate every other Friday to it. You can choose to work with different people, experimenting to create solutions to various challenges!

On your 12 month placement with us you will be part of an Agile delivery team with the opportunity to learn and code on a number of different platforms and frameworks. There’s no typical day for an Engineer in our team. We have multiple codebases that you will work with during your time and each day provides a new challenge, implementing new features or fixing issues to improve the effectiveness of our website. Rest assured though that help will always be on hand and the knowledge and experience of the rest of the team is readily available to help you achieve your goals and have a great year in industry.

Insurance Pricing Analyst

We’re looking for a new Pricing Analyst to join us on the Holiday Extras campus and become part of the Insurance Business Insight team. The workload is fast-paced, but the atmosphere is fun.

We want our Pricing Analyst to bring their commercial knowledge and data analysis skills to our insurance team, putting both into practice optimising price to drive volume and keep us competitive. You will join a small Analytics team and be responsible for undertaking competitor analysis and making recommendations around our own pricing to ensure we are relevant and competitive. In addition to the above you will support the Senior Analyst in delivering data and insight to the rest of the insurance business on an adhoc basis – building pricing models and analysing trading and performance data.

You will be technically and commercially minded with the drive and ability to work in an evolving, fast-paced environment. You will be capable of communicating effectively at all levels, and you’ll have experience analysing data, preferably in a commercial or pricing-related role. SQL knowledge is desired but not essential.

Commercial Product Manager – Insurance

Whilst continually focusing on underwriter performance, ensuring our products are profitable and sustainable from a commercial perspective.

As a tenacious self starter with experience in the insurance industry, you’ll work to innovate our current product portfolio enhancing the customer offering and audience whilst generating a greater return. As a strong technical specialist you will have a solid understanding of legal and FCA regulations and be able to bring these into your work. You’ll use your knowledge of the insurance market to deliver products that are tailored to our customers. As well as using your analytical skills to help identify areas of risk and opportunity ensuring the strength and success of our partnerships.

This role doesn’t stop at coding emails – you’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of email areas ranging from mailing list growth, creative design, database management, innovative layouts and beyond. Building responsive mobile designs and optimising for mobile first is how we work, always thinking mobile first.  In addition, you’ll be improving the creative and the functionality on our scheduled email sends with iterations and improvements in most sprints, utilizing split-testing with a view to reach our commercial targets.  

Problem-solving is key; identifying solutions and writing the best code for the email clients by the largest proportion of our database. Getting your updates live and making a difference straight away is what we’re all about!

Who we’re looking for...

We’re looking for amazing customer service experts to join our contact centre team, who will enjoy hitting both personal and business-wide targets, as well as delivering a customer service that not only delights our customers but also exceeds the standards expected by the brands themselves through a mystery shopping programme. You will be passionate about delivering great, personalised service through your tone of voice and the ability to really get to know your customers. What we’re looking for:

Hours

Full-Time37.5 hours –  you will need to be fully flexible across our opening hours of Monday – Friday 8am til 11pm and Saturday – Sunday 8.30am til 8pm.
